In a commanding performance to kick off the 2027 season, the Houston Texans trounced the Carolina Panthers 51-17. With both teams looking to establish themselves early in the season, the Texans made a definitive statement, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. Quarterback Joe Flacco led the charge for Houston, racking up 233 passing yards and tossing two touchdown passes. Woody Marks added a strong ground presence with 92 rushing yards, while the Texans' offense consistently moved the ball with efficiency. Despite the scoreline, Carolina's Xavier Legette stood out with 112 receiving yards, but the Panthers struggled to find the end zone against a relentless Texans defense.
