In a commanding performance to kick off the 2027 season, the Washington Commanders topped the New England Patriots 36-10. The stakes were high as both teams sought to establish momentum in Week 1, but it was the Commanders who seized control early and never looked back. Jayden Daniels was the star of the show for Washington, throwing for an impressive 370 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense with precision. Terry McLaurin was his top target, racking up 170 receiving yards and proving to be a nightmare for the Patriots' secondary. While New England's Drake Maye managed a respectable 64 rushing yards, the offensive firepower of the Commanders was simply too much to handle. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, highlighted by Nick Cross's crucial interception that shifted the momentum decisively in Washington's favor. Quan Martin led the team with three total tackles, contributing to a solid effort that kept the Patriots' offense at bay. The turning point came early in the second half when Washington scored back-to-back touchdowns, effectively sealing the game and showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball.
