The Houston Texans topped the New England Patriots 25-5 in a decisive Wildcard Round matchup, eliminating New England from the 2027 playoffs. With both teams vying for a chance to advance, the Texans showcased their dominance, advancing to the next round with a stellar performance on both sides of the ball. Joe Flacco led the Texans' offense with two touchdown passes, while Nico Collins emerged as a key target, racking up 103 receiving yards. On the other side, Drake Maye threw for 232 yards but struggled to find the end zone, highlighting the challenges the Patriots faced against a formidable Houston defense. TreVeyon Henderson added 68 rushing yards but couldn't spark a much-needed offensive resurgence. Defensively, the Texans were a force, with Sheldon Rankins leading the charge with seven total tackles. The turning point came when Kamari Ramsey snagged an interception, halting a promising Patriots drive and setting the stage for Flacco to extend Houston's lead. With Gabe Jacas earning 2.5 sacks for New England, his efforts couldn't turn the tide, as the Texans' relentless defense ultimately secured their playoff advancement.
