In a decisive matchup, the Los Angeles Rams topped the Washington Commanders 22-7 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The victory keeps the Rams firmly in the playoff picture, while the Commanders struggle to find their footing in the competitive NFC. Matthew Stafford led the Rams' offense, throwing for 214 yards, while Kyren Williams added a strong ground game with 90 rushing yards. Davante Adams was the top target, securing 63 receiving yards and contributing to the Rams' consistent scoring efforts. Despite Jayden Daniels throwing for a touchdown, the Commanders' offensive efforts fell short against a stout Rams defense. Defensively, the Rams made a significant impact, with Aaron Donald racking up 2.5 sacks and Trent McDuffie contributing with an interception. The game's turning point came late in the second quarter when Donald's pressure led to a crucial turnover, shifting momentum firmly in favor of Los Angeles. The Commanders' struggling offense could not recover from that pivotal moment, allowing the Rams to maintain control for the remainder of the game.
