In a decisive Week 1 matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders topped the Miami Dolphins with a final score of 17-3. Both teams entered the season eager to establish their dominance, but it was the Raiders who claimed the early advantage in their pursuit of playoff contention. J.J. McCarthy shone for the Raiders, throwing for two touchdowns while helping his team control the game. On the ground, Travis Etienne Jr. contributed significantly with 74 rushing yards, providing a balanced offensive attack. Meanwhile, Bryce Young led the Dolphins with 215 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone, limiting Miami's scoring opportunities. Defensively, the Raiders were relentless, with Zack Baun wreaking havoc and recording 2.5 sacks, while Cooper DeJean not only led the team with four total tackles but also snagged an interception that halted any potential Dolphins comeback. The turning point came late in the second quarter when McCarthy connected with a receiver for a touchdown, giving the Raiders a commanding edge they would not relinquish.
