In a tightly contested matchup, the Washington Commanders secured a 27-20 victory over the New York Giants in Week 9 of the 2028 season. Both teams entered the game looking to gain momentum, but it was the Commanders who ultimately came out on top, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Trinidad Chambliss threw for a crucial touchdown, while Jordan Love led the Giants with 195 passing yards, but it was Nick Singleton who drove Washington's ground game, racking up 89 rushing yards. Cam Coleman contributed significantly in the passing game with 60 receiving yards, making key catches that helped maintain the Commanders' offensive flow. Defensively, the Commanders were a force to be reckoned with, as Jahkeem Stewart dominated with two sacks, putting pressure on Love throughout the game. Christian Gonzalez’s eight total tackles underscored a determined defensive effort that stifled the Giants’ attempts to mount a comeback. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Stewart's second sack forced a critical turnover on downs, sealing the victory for Washington.
