In a tightly contested matchup, the San Francisco 49ers topped the New York Giants 23-17 in Week 13 of the 2026 season. With playoff positioning on the line, both teams showcased their talents, but it was the 49ers who managed to hold off a late surge from the Giants. Jared Goff led the way for San Francisco, throwing for an impressive 304 yards, while Troy Franklin emerged as his favorite target, racking up 149 receiving yards. The Giants' offense saw Michael Penix Jr. contribute with a touchdown pass, but it was De'Von Achane's 72 rushing yards that kept New York competitive throughout the game. Defensively, R. Sherman was a standout for the 49ers, registering 11 total tackles, which played a crucial role in limiting the Giants' scoring opportunities. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Sherman's defensive presence helped stifle a key drive, allowing San Francisco to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
