In a high-octane offensive showdown, the Dallas Cowboys topped the Washington Commanders 48-23 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to make an early statement, the Cowboys vaulted themselves into the spotlight with an impressive performance at home. Quarterback Justin Herbert was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 458 yards and a staggering seven touchdowns, showcasing his ability to dissect defenses with precision. George Pickens was his top target, racking up 174 receiving yards, making big plays that kept the momentum firmly in Dallas’s favor. Meanwhile, Jaydon Blue put up a strong fight for the Commanders, leading the ground game with 120 rushing yards. Defensively, the Cowboys were effective enough to disrupt Washington's rhythm, with Derrick Moore leading the team in tackles. The game’s turning point came in the third quarter when Ameer Speed intercepted a pass, shifting momentum back to Dallas and allowing them to extend their lead. Trey Hendrickson's two sacks for the Commanders showcased their defensive effort, but it was not enough to contain the explosive Cowboys offense.
