In a thrilling opening game of the 2026 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 37-24. With both teams eager to make a statement, the Buccaneers showcased their offensive firepower while the Bengals fought hard but ultimately fell short. Leading the charge for Tampa Bay was quarterback Matthew Stafford, who tossed three touchdown passes, effectively spreading the ball around and keeping the Bengals' defense on its heels. Warrick Dunn contributed significantly on the ground with 114 rushing yards, while Drake London of the Bengals shone in the receiving game, racking up 152 yards despite the loss. Defensively, the Buccaneers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Cobie Durant led the team with eight total tackles, anchoring a defense that limited Cincinnati's scoring opportunities. Za'Darius Smith's 1.5 sacks proved crucial, as they disrupted Joe Burrow's rhythm, particularly in the second half when Tampa Bay began to pull away, securing their victory.
