In a pivotal Week 16 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 24-14, solidifying their playoff positioning. With the stakes high for both teams, the 49ers showcased their resilience and tactical prowess in a game that could have significant implications for the postseason. Offensively, San Francisco was led by Cam Ward, who threw for 166 yards and effectively managed the game. Jahmyr Gibbs was a standout on the ground, racking up 95 rushing yards, while the Chiefs relied on Patrick Mahomes' two touchdown passes to keep them competitive. Despite the loss, Mahomes connected with Jayden Reed for 87 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 49ers' balanced attack. Defensively, San Francisco made crucial plays that turned the tide in their favor. Marcus Epps recorded a key sack, while Jaquan Brisker’s interception helped halt a Chiefs drive that could have shifted momentum. The 49ers' defense was instrumental in limiting Kansas City's scoring opportunities, particularly in the second half, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
