In a strong showing to kick off the 2027 season, the Miami Dolphins topped the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 26-13. Both teams were looking to establish dominance early, but it was Miami that set the tone with a solid all-around performance, marking a promising start to their campaign. Miami's Cam Ward was the standout performer, throwing for two touchdowns and effectively managing the game. Jaylen Warren contributed significantly on the ground with 64 rushing yards, while the Dolphins' defense held firm against the Cowboys' attack. For Dallas, Justin Herbert threw for 265 yards and connected with Brandon Aiyuk for 110 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome Miami's offensive efficiency. Defensively, Wayne Jefferson was a key player for Miami, recording five total tackles and snagging an interception that shifted momentum in the Dolphins' favor. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Jefferson's interception halted a promising drive from the Cowboys, allowing Miami to capitalize and extend their lead. With strong performances on both sides of the ball, the Dolphins proved resilient and ready for the challenges ahead this season.
