In a thrilling Week 13 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the New York Giants 28-27, keeping their playoff hopes alive in the tightly contested 2026 season. Both teams entered the game looking to secure a crucial win, but it was the 49ers who emerged victorious in a nail-biter that showcased the intensity of late-season football. On the offensive side, it was a standout performance by Ashton Jeanty of the Giants, who rushed for an impressive 164 yards, consistently finding gaps in the 49ers' defense. Meanwhile, Josh Allen led the Giants in passing with 189 yards, while Cam Ward contributed to San Francisco's success with a crucial touchdown pass. Josh Oliver also shined in the receiving game for New York, racking up 93 yards to keep the Giants competitive until the final whistle. Defensively, the Giants made their presence felt, with Dane Belton leading the team with five total tackles and Harold Landry III recording a sack. However, it was the 49ers who capitalized on key moments, particularly during a pivotal drive in the fourth quarter that sealed their win. The combination of timely offense and resilient defense allowed San Francisco to hold off a late push from New York, ultimately securing their hard-fought victory.
