In a decisive Week 12 showdown, the Cincinnati Bengals toppled the New Orleans Saints with a commanding 28-0 victory, solidifying their playoff aspirations. The Bengals' dominant performance not only showcased their offensive prowess but also highlighted the stakes for the Saints, who now find themselves struggling to maintain their postseason hopes. Cincinnati's offense was led by a standout performance from J.K. Dobbins, who rushed for 140 yards, consistently breaking through the Saints' defensive line to keep drives alive. Trevor Lawrence of New Orleans put up impressive passing numbers with 276 yards, but was unable to convert those yards into points. Ja'Marr Chase contributed significantly for the Saints as well, racking up 97 receiving yards, but it was not enough to change the outcome. Defensively, the Bengals were relentless, with Tyrel Dodson leading the charge with seven total tackles, disrupting the Saints' rhythm throughout the game. A pivotal moment came when Marcus Jones intercepted a pass that halted a potential scoring drive for New Orleans, effectively sealing the game for Cincinnati. Will McDonald IV provided a bright spot for the Saints with 1.5 sacks, but the Bengals' overall defensive effort proved to be too much, keeping the Saints off the scoreboard entirely.
