In a decisive Week 4 matchup, the Houston Texans toppled the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 28-7. This victory not only boosts Houston's confidence but also positions them strongly in the early part of the season, while the Cowboys will need to regroup after this disappointing performance. Fernando Mendoza led the charge for Houston, throwing for 166 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to command the game. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was a standout in the receiving corps, racking up 141 yards, while Rico Dowdle contributed significantly on the ground with 60 rushing yards. Together, their efforts formed the backbone of an explosive Texans offense that kept the Cowboys on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, Houston made a significant impact, highlighted by Jalen Carter's impressive 2.5 sacks, which disrupted the Cowboys' rhythm and led to crucial turnovers. The Texans' ability to pressure the quarterback was a turning point, effectively stifling any potential Dallas scoring drives. Despite a solid defensive effort from Bobby Okereke, whose five tackles led the Cowboys, it was Houston's defensive dominance that ultimately sealed the victory.
