The Chicago Bears secured a commanding 45-20 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 17 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff positioning with this critical win. The Bears showcased their dominance on both sides of the ball, making a strong case for their postseason aspirations. Caleb Williams led the offense for Chicago, throwing for 2 touchdowns and connecting consistently with Luther Burden III, who racked up an impressive 132 receiving yards. On the other side, Jared Goff put together a solid performance for Detroit, accumulating 287 passing yards, but struggled to find the end zone consistently. Jahmyr Gibbs contributed a respectable 57 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Bears' explosive attack. Defensively, the Bears were a force to be reckoned with, highlighted by Jaylon Johnson's two interceptions that turned the tide of the game. Shemar Stewart also made his presence felt with a sack, adding pressure on Goff throughout the match. The turning point came in the second quarter when Johnson's second interception set up a quick touchdown, allowing Chicago to pull away and ultimately control the game.
