In a thrilling Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 26-24. Both teams entered the game looking to establish early momentum, but it was the Commanders who managed to hold off a late surge from Dallas to secure the victory. Dak Prescott led the Cowboys with an impressive performance, throwing for 231 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to move the offense. However, it was Kaytron Allen's ground game that proved pivotal for Washington, as he racked up 86 rushing yards, helping to balance the offensive attack. Rashee Rice also made an impact for Dallas, leading all receivers with 87 yards, but it wasn’t enough to clinch the win. Defensively, the Commanders made critical plays that shaped the outcome of the game. Sonny Styles registered a key sack, putting pressure on Prescott at crucial moments, while Leo Chenal's two interceptions swung the momentum in Washington's favor. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Chenal’s second pick halted a promising Cowboys drive, allowing the Commanders to run down the clock and secure their victory.
