In a closely contested season opener, the Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Minnesota Vikings 20-17 on the road. Both teams were eager to kick off the 2026 season with a win, but it was the Packers who ultimately secured the victory in a dramatic finish. Quarterback Jordan Love was the standout performer for Green Bay, throwing for 288 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense. Tight end Tucker Kraft emerged as his favorite target, racking up 113 receiving yards and playing a crucial role in key moments throughout the game. On the ground, the Vikings struggled to find their rhythm, with Joe Mixon managing just 36 rushing yards. Defensively, the Packers' unit made significant contributions, with Javon Hargrave leading the way with four total tackles, helping to stifle the Vikings' offensive efforts. The game's turning point came in the fourth quarter when Green Bay's defense held strong, forcing a critical turnover that allowed the Packers to maintain their slim lead and secure the win.
