In a tightly contested season opener, the Cleveland Browns narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-13, kicking off the 2026 season on a high note. Both teams showcased their talent, but it was the Browns who managed to secure the victory and set the tone for the upcoming season. Cleveland's offense was powered by Taylen Green, who threw for a crucial touchdown, while Jerry Jeudy led the receiving corps with 87 yards. The ground game was less dominant, but the Browns made enough plays to keep the Jaguars' defense on their toes. Meanwhile, Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence put up 194 passing yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Cleveland's offensive efficiency. The game's turning point came in the second half, as the Browns' defense stepped up to limit the Jaguars' scoring opportunities. Kayvon Thibodeaux made a significant impact with a key sack, while Jourdan Lewis intercepted a pass that disrupted Jacksonville's momentum. The Jaguars' Foyesade Oluokun was busy on defense with eight tackles, but ultimately, Cleveland's defense held strong when it mattered most, sealing the victory for the Browns.
