In a decisive Week 17 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final score of 34-18, solidifying their playoff aspirations. With the stakes high as the regular season approached its conclusion, Washington showcased their potency on both sides of the ball, while Jacksonville struggled to find their rhythm. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels stood out, throwing for three touchdowns and orchestrating a commanding offensive performance. Jacory Croskey-Merritt added to the scoring effort with 67 rushing yards, while the receiving corps was led by Brian Thomas Jr. for the Jaguars, who racked up 97 receiving yards, but ultimately fell short in the fight. Defensively, the Commanders were led by Sonny Styles, who made eight total tackles, providing crucial stops to stymie Jacksonville's drives. The game's turning point came midway through the third quarter when Washington's defense forced a turnover, allowing Daniels to capitalize with a touchdown pass that widened the gap and shifted momentum firmly in their favor. The Jaguars could not recover from that setback, sealing their fate in this pivotal contest.
