The Buffalo Bills kicked off the 2027 season with a commanding 41-22 victory over the Washington Commanders. With both teams looking to establish early momentum in the new campaign, the Bills showcased their firepower and left no doubt about their intentions for the year ahead. Josh Allen was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 435 yards and six touchdowns, leading a potent Buffalo offense that consistently found ways to exploit the Commanders' defense. DJ Moore emerged as a key target, racking up 145 receiving yards, while Jayden Daniels of the Commanders put forth a valiant effort on the ground with 189 rushing yards, though it wasn't enough to keep pace with Buffalo's high-flying attack. Defensively, the Bills made critical plays at key moments, highlighted by Ed Oliver's two sacks and Terrel Bernard's interception, which shifted the momentum firmly in Buffalo's favor. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Bernard's pick set up another quick touchdown, extending the lead to 28-10, making it a steep hill for Washington to climb as the game progressed.
