The San Francisco 49ers topped the New York Giants 28-14 in a crucial Week 13 matchup, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season winds down. The 49ers displayed offensive prowess, while the Giants struggled to keep pace in a game that could have significant implications for their postseason hopes. Brock Purdy led the charge for San Francisco, throwing for 289 yards and effectively managing the game. Christian McCaffrey added a powerful ground game with 103 rushing yards, while Mike Evans was the standout receiver, racking up 157 yards and a touchdown. The offensive balance was key for the 49ers, allowing them to control the tempo and maintain a lead throughout the contest. On the defensive side, the 49ers made critical plays, highlighted by Jack Jones' interception that halted a promising Giants drive and shifted momentum back to San Francisco. Although Colton Hood of the Giants recorded eight tackles and Brian Burns contributed a sack, their efforts were not enough to contain the 49ers' dynamic offense. The turning point came in the second quarter when the 49ers scored back-to-back touchdowns, establishing a lead that the Giants couldn't overcome.
