In a dominant display, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Chicago Bears with a final score of 42-7, solidifying their position as a formidable force early in the 2027 season. With this victory, the 49ers improve to a strong record, while the Bears continue to struggle to find their footing. Brock Purdy was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 334 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his versatility with an additional 68 rushing yards. Mike Evans was his favorite target, racking up 176 receiving yards and finding the end zone as well, helping to push the 49ers' offense to new heights. Defensively, the 49ers were equally impressive, highlighted by Romello Height's sack and Dre Greenlaw's interception, both of which contributed to a relentless defensive effort. The turning point came early in the second half when Purdy connected with Evans for a long touchdown, stretching the lead to 28-7 and leaving the Bears reeling. Overall, San Francisco's balanced attack and tenacious defense proved too much for Chicago to handle.
