In a hard-fought battle that had playoff implications, the Washington Commanders topped the Minnesota Vikings 27-20 in Week 16 of the 2026 season. Both teams entered the game with aspirations of solidifying their postseason positions, but it was Washington that emerged victorious, delivering a crucial win on the road. Kyler Murray showcased his skills for the Vikings, throwing for 253 yards and two touchdowns, while Justin Jefferson put on a receiving clinic, racking up 123 yards. However, it was Rachaad White who led the ground game for the Commanders, rushing for 80 yards and keeping Minnesota's defense on its heels throughout the contest. Washington's balanced offensive attack proved to be the difference maker. Defensively, Washington's Trey Amos was a standout performer, recording eight total tackles, which helped stifle the Vikings' momentum at key moments. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense forced a critical turnover, allowing the Commanders to regain control and ultimately secure the victory. With this win, Washington solidifies its playoff hopes, while Minnesota will need to regroup as they eye their path to the postseason.
