In a crucial Week 5 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals with a final score of 34-20, solidifying their position in the NFC playoff race. The Lions showcased their offensive prowess, while the Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm, ultimately falling short in their home stadium. Jordan Love was the standout performer for Detroit, throwing for three touchdowns and guiding the Lions’ balanced attack. Jordan Mason added to the offensive success with 77 rushing yards, while DeVonta Smith of the Cardinals put up a valiant effort, racking up 149 receiving yards but unable to convert that into a win for his team. Dak Prescott led the Cardinals with 261 passing yards, but it wasn't enough to match Detroit's offensive firepower. Defensively, the Lions made critical stops when it mattered most, highlighted by Sean Murphy-Bunting's two interceptions that turned the tide in favor of Detroit. Chase Young also contributed significantly with 1.5 sacks, applying pressure to Prescott throughout the game. The turning point came in the second half when Murphy-Bunting's second interception set up a quick touchdown drive for the Lions, effectively putting the game out of reach for the Cardinals.
