In an exciting season opener, the Cleveland Browns topped the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-20, setting the tone for what promises to be an intense 2026 campaign. Both teams were eager to start strong, but it was the Browns who secured the victory, showcasing their offensive firepower and defensive prowess. Cleveland's offense was led by Justin Fields, who threw for one touchdown, while D'Andre Swift of the Jaguars stole the show on the ground with an impressive 169 rushing yards. Puka Nacua also made his mark, racking up 88 receiving yards, but it was the balanced attack of the Browns that ultimately proved more effective as they built an early lead. Defensively, the Browns were relentless, with Josh Sweat registering three sacks, putting immense pressure on Jacksonville's quarterback Jalen Hurts. The turning point came when Caleb Ransaw intercepted a pass, halting a promising Jaguars drive and allowing Cleveland to extend their lead. With Nate Wiggins leading the tackle count for the Browns, it was clear their defense played a crucial role in holding off the Jaguars’ attempts to mount a comeback.
