In a tightly contested Week 17 matchup, the New Orleans Saints narrowly defeated the Atlanta Falcons 22-17, securing their playoff positioning as the regular season comes to a close. With both teams vying for momentum heading into the postseason, this game was critical for the Saints to solidify their standing. Tyler Shough led the Saints' offense with an impressive 313 passing yards, showcasing his ability to command the field. RJ Harvey contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 63 rushing yards, while Jordyn Tyson emerged as the standout receiver, amassing 152 yards through the air. Joe Milton of the Falcons found the end zone once but struggled to keep pace with Shough's performance. Defensively, the Saints made key plays to impact the game, with Jonas Sanker securing an interception that shifted momentum in their favor. Despite the Falcons' Travis Hunter leading the game with 10 tackles and Samson Ebukam applying pressure with 1.5 sacks, the Saints' ability to capitalize on defensive opportunities ultimately sealed the victory. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Sanker’s interception thwarted a potential game-tying drive for Atlanta, ensuring New Orleans walked away with the win.
