In a stunning display of dominance, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers crushed the Carolina Panthers 48-0 in Week 1 of the 2027 season. The stakes were high as both teams aimed to set the tone for their campaigns, but it was the Buccaneers who turned in a performance to remember, heralding their intentions for the year ahead. Baker Mayfield was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 368 yards and six touchdowns while also leading the team on the ground with 91 rushing yards. His target, Bucky Irving, was a standout receiver, racking up 133 yards, adding to the offensive onslaught that left the Panthers reeling. The Buccaneers’ offense was efficient and explosive, showcasing their firepower from the opening whistle. Defensively, the Buccaneers did not let up, with Zyon McCollum leading the charge with four total tackles. Vita Vea made his presence felt, recording two sacks that stymied any attempt at a Panthers comeback. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Dominique Hampton intercepted a pass, setting the stage for a relentless offensive barrage that sealed the game well before the final whistle.
