In a commanding performance, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-21 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. The 49ers continue to solidify their reputation as a powerhouse, showcasing their offensive firepower while the Steelers sought to bounce back from their previous loss. Drew Allar led the charge for the Steelers with an impressive 270 passing yards and three touchdown throws, displaying his potential as a playmaker. Meanwhile, Christian McCaffrey was the driving force for San Francisco's ground game, contributing 63 rushing yards, while DK Metcalf racked up 95 receiving yards for Pittsburgh, proving to be a reliable target. Defensively, the 49ers made key plays to stifle the Steelers’ momentum, highlighted by Osa Odighizuwa's sack, which disrupted Pittsburgh's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the second quarter when San Francisco's defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing the 49ers to extend their lead and ultimately seal the victory. Payton Wilson’s eight tackles were notable for the Steelers, but they weren't enough to overcome the 49ers' offensive onslaught.
