In a tightly contested battle, the New York Giants narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders 16-14 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. Both teams fought hard, but the Giants emerged victorious, putting themselves in a promising position early in the year. Jaxson Dart led the Giants with a modest 100 passing yards, while Malik Nabers was his top target, racking up 54 receiving yards. The real offensive firepower belonged to the Commanders, as Jayden Daniels threw for two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to find the end zone. However, it was Jacory Croskey-Merritt's standout performance on the ground, with 138 rushing yards, that kept Washington competitive throughout the game. Defensively, the Giants were able to make crucial plays, highlighted by Jacobe Johnson's interception that shifted momentum in their favor. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Giants' defense held strong, stifling the Commanders' final drive and preserving the win. Although both teams had their moments, the Giants' resilience on defense ultimately secured their hard-fought victory.
