In a high-octane showdown, the Las Vegas Raiders outlasted the Detroit Lions with a final score of 47-35 in Week 5 of the 2027 season. Both teams entered the game looking to bolster their playoff hopes, but it was the Raiders who seized the momentum and made a statement on home turf. Jared Goff led the Lions with an impressive performance, throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to keep the offense moving. However, it was Mike Washington Jr. of the Raiders who stole the spotlight on the ground, racking up a staggering 242 rushing yards, proving to be a game-changing force. Amon-Ra St. Brown also made his mark for Detroit, tallying 100 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory. Defensively, the Raiders were impactful, with Jeremy Chinn contributing seven total tackles and Isaiah Pola-Mao grabbing an interception that helped shift the game’s momentum. The turning point came in the second quarter when Washington Jr. broke off a long touchdown run that not only extended the Raiders' lead but also left the Lions reeling. As the game progressed, Las Vegas's defense managed to stifle key drives from Detroit, ensuring their victory as they continue their quest for the playoffs.
