In a high-octane showdown, the Washington Commanders topped the New England Patriots with a decisive 55-33 victory in Week 7 of the 2027 season. The Commanders needed this win to assert themselves in the playoff race, and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Jayden Daniels was the star of the night for Washington, tossing for an impressive 472 yards and six touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and find his targets. Meanwhile, Derrick Henry put up a remarkable 224 rushing yards for the Patriots, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Commanders' explosive offense. Jeremiah Smith also had a standout performance for New England, racking up 208 receiving yards, but Washington's aerial attack proved too potent. Defensively, the Commanders made crucial plays that turned the tide in their favor. Sonny Styles intercepted two passes, adding significant pressure on the Patriots' offense and disrupting their rhythm. The turning point came when Styles' second interception led to a quick touchdown, pushing Washington's lead to a commanding 28-14, and from there, they never looked back. With solid defensive plays complementing their offensive firepower, the Commanders firmly established themselves as a contender this season.
