In a tightly contested matchup, the New Orleans Saints hold off the Houston Texans with a final score of 24-17 in Week 7 of the 2027 season. This victory keeps the Saints in the playoff hunt, showcasing their resilience in a challenging road environment. Leading the charge for New Orleans was quarterback Tyler Shough, who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown, orchestrating a balanced offensive attack. Wide receiver Chris Olave was a standout target, racking up 121 receiving yards, while running back contributions rounded out a productive day for the Saints' offense. Meanwhile, Nate Frazier shone for Houston, amassing 117 rushing yards but ultimately fell short of leading his team to victory. Defensively, the Saints were able to stifle the Texans' momentum at critical moments, with Danny Stutsman making his presence felt with 10 total tackles. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Saints' defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing their offense to run down the clock and secure the win. Will Anderson Jr. provided pressure for Houston with 1.5 sacks, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide against a determined New Orleans squad.
