In a thrilling Week 7 matchup, the Carolina Panthers topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-23, solidifying their grip on the NFC South. Both teams entered the game looking to bolster their playoff aspirations, but it was the Panthers who emerged victorious, showcasing resilience and determination on their home turf. Baker Mayfield led the Buccaneers' offense with an impressive 300 passing yards and two touchdowns, connecting effectively with his top receiver, Emeka Egbuka, who racked up 138 yards through the air. Bucky Irving also contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 86 yards, but despite these standout performances, the Buccaneers fell short in the end. Defensively, the Panthers made their mark with Kader Kohou leading the way with nine total tackles. The turning point came when Jaycee Horn intercepted Mayfield, halting a potential scoring drive and shifting momentum back to Carolina. Nic Scourton also added a sack, further disrupting Tampa Bay's offensive rhythm as the Panthers held off the Buccaneers' late-game push.
