In a tightly contested matchup, the Miami Dolphins narrowly defeated the New York Jets 27-24 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. Both teams were looking to solidify their playoff aspirations, making this victory crucial for Miami as they strive to stay competitive in the division. Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis led the offensive charge with 167 passing yards, while De'Von Achane showcased his explosive running ability, racking up 95 rushing yards. Despite the Jets' efforts, it was Geno Smith's lone passing touchdown that kept the game competitive, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Dolphins' balanced attack. Defensively, the Jets put up a strong front, with Demario Davis leading the way with 11 total tackles and Malachi Lawrence contributing with a key sack. However, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Dolphins' defense held firm, forcing a critical turnover that allowed Miami to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win.
