In a decisive Week 5 clash, the Detroit Lions topped the Arizona Cardinals with a commanding 27-3 victory. The win solidifies Detroit's position as a formidable contender in the league, while the Cardinals will need to regroup after a disappointing performance at home. Offensively, the Lions showcased a balanced attack, with Jared Goff throwing for one touchdown and James Cook III leading the ground game with 96 rushing yards. Goff's efficient play, coupled with Cook's ability to grind out yards, allowed Detroit to control the tempo and maintain a comfortable lead throughout the game. Meanwhile, Arizona's Jacoby Brissett managed to accumulate 236 passing yards but struggled to convert those efforts into points. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, with standout performances from Matt Milano, who recorded eight tackles, and Greg Rousseau, who notched 2.5 sacks. D.J. Reed's two interceptions proved pivotal, stifling any momentum the Cardinals hoped to build. The turning point came in the second quarter when Reed's first pick set up a scoring drive that extended Detroit's lead to 14-0, effectively sealing the game for the Lions.
