In a thrilling Wildcard Round matchup, the Chicago Bears topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-29, securing their place in the next round of the playoffs. With both teams vying for advancement in the 2026 season, this high-stakes game delivered on excitement and intensity. Bears running back Ashton Jeanty was the star of the night, racking up an impressive 287 rushing yards, a performance that was instrumental in Chicago's offensive success. Quarterback Baker Mayfield of the Buccaneers also shone, throwing for 373 yards and two touchdowns, but it was not enough to keep pace with Jeanty’s explosive ground game. Sincere Brown was a key target for Mayfield, finishing with 151 receiving yards, showcasing his ability to stretch the field. Defensively, Jarrick Bernard-Converse made a critical impact for the Bears with a timely interception that halted a potential scoring drive for the Buccaneers. While Travon Walker recorded 2.5 sacks for Tampa Bay, it was Chicago's ability to limit explosive plays in the second half that ultimately turned the tide. The game's pivotal moment came when Jeanty broke free for a long touchdown run, solidifying the Bears' lead and sealing their victory.
