Defensively, the game was marked by moments of critical intervention, particularly from Will Anderson Jr., who recorded a key sack that disrupted the Bengals' rhythm. Although Trevin Wallace led the Bengals with six tackles, it was Kansas City's ability to pressure Johnson that turned the tide. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Chiefs' defense held firm, allowing them to maintain their lead and secure the win.
