In an impressive display on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars topped the New England Patriots 27-17, improving to 2-1 in the early stages of the 2026 season. This victory not only solidified their standing but also showcased their ability to compete in a tightly contested matchup against a storied franchise. Quarterback Josh Allen led the charge for Jacksonville, throwing for 203 yards and a touchdown, while also managing the game effectively. Running back Jeremiyah Love contributed significantly on the ground with 61 rushing yards, providing a balanced attack. Ted Hurst III was the standout receiver, racking up 72 yards through the air, helping to keep the chains moving and set the tone for the Jaguars' offense. Defensively, the Jaguars were disruptive, with Kayvon Thibodeaux recording two crucial sacks that not only limited New England's offensive production but also shifted momentum in favor of Jacksonville. The turning point came in the second quarter when Thibodeaux's pressure led to a crucial turnover, allowing the Jaguars to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. The Patriots' Cam Taylor-Britt recorded seven tackles, but it wasn’t enough to counteract the Jaguars' defensive prowess.
