The Pittsburgh Steelers opened their 2026 season with a commanding 44-32 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. This matchup was critical for both teams as they aimed to set the tone for the year, and the Steelers came out on top with a strong performance on both sides of the ball. Brett Favre was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for 333 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his veteran poise and accuracy. Earl Campbell was a dual threat, amassing 138 rushing yards while also leading the receiving corps with 137 yards through the air. This dynamic offensive output proved too much for the Falcons to handle, as Pittsburgh consistently moved the chains and found the end zone. Defensively, the Steelers made key stops that shifted momentum in their favor. Denzel Ward led the charge with seven total tackles, while Dexter Lawrence II notched a sack, applying pressure to the Falcons' quarterback. The pivotal moment came when Chamarri Conner intercepted a pass late in the game, stifling a potential Falcons comeback and sealing the win for Pittsburgh.
