In a hard-fought battle, the Buffalo Bills narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 13-6 in the season opener. Both teams showcased their defenses, but it was the Bills who emerged victorious, setting the tone for the 2026 season early on. Offensively, C.J. Stroud of the Texans led the passing game with 248 yards, while Tank Dell shone as his top target, racking up 102 receiving yards. On the ground, James Cook III was the standout for Buffalo, rushing for 94 yards and providing crucial momentum when needed. Defensively, the Bills made their presence felt, with Terrel Bernard leading the charge with 9 total tackles. Landon Jackson was a constant threat in the backfield, registering 1.5 sacks that disrupted Houston's rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Jackson's pressure forced a critical turnover, allowing the Bills to maintain their slim lead and secure the win.
