In a tightly contested matchup in Week 5 of the 2026 season, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints, finishing with a final score of 17-13. With playoff aspirations on the line, both teams fought hard for crucial positioning in the standings, but it was the Vikings who ultimately prevailed. For the Vikings, Kyler Murray played a pivotal role, throwing for one touchdown while efficiently managing the game. Meanwhile, the Saints' Tyler Shough led the aerial attack with 201 passing yards, but it was Travis Etienne Jr. who stole the show on the ground, racking up 121 rushing yards. Jordyn Tyson also stood out in the receiving game, contributing 96 yards. Defensively, the Vikings were bolstered by Andrew Van Ginkel, who recorded two sacks, creating key pressure on Shough throughout the game. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Van Ginkel's second sack forced a crucial turnover, allowing Minnesota to maintain their slim lead. The Saints' Kaden Elliss led all defenders with eight tackles, but it was the Vikings' timely defensive plays that ultimately secured their victory.
