In a thrilling Week 1 matchup, the Denver Broncos narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 28-21, kicking off their 2026 season with a crucial win. Both teams showcased their talent, but the Broncos managed to hold off a late surge from the Chiefs, securing an important early victory in the race for playoff positioning. Leading the charge for Denver was quarterback Bo Nix, who threw for 266 yards and a touchdown, demonstrating poise and precision under pressure. Running back J.K. Dobbins added a solid ground game with 78 rushing yards, while wide receiver Courtland Sutton was a standout target, racking up an impressive 134 receiving yards. Their combined efforts provided Denver with a balanced offensive attack that proved too much for Kansas City. On the defensive side, the Chiefs were led by Drue Tranquill, who recorded nine total tackles, but it was Denver's ability to stifle the Chiefs' offensive rhythm that ultimately proved decisive. The game's turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Broncos' defense forced a critical turnover, allowing them to regain control and seal the victory. With this win, the Broncos send a strong message to the rest of the league as they look to build momentum in the early part of the season.
