In a high-octane showdown, the San Francisco 49ers took down the Arizona Cardinals with an impressive 65-42 victory in Week 2 of the 2027 season. The game had major playoff implications early in the season, and the 49ers seized the opportunity to establish themselves as a force in the league. Christian McCaffrey was the standout performer for San Francisco, racking up a staggering 257 rushing yards and finding the end zone multiple times, showcasing his elite playmaking ability. On the other side, Justin Fields put up strong numbers for the Cardinals with 255 passing yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the explosive 49ers offense. Marvin Harrison Jr. also made an impact, leading Arizona in receiving yards with 94. Defensively, the 49ers were led by Theo Davis, who recorded a sack that played a crucial role in stalling Arizona's drives. The turning point came late in the first half when San Francisco capitalized on a turnover to score quickly, shifting momentum firmly in their favor. Despite a spirited effort from the Cardinals, the 49ers' defense stepped up at key moments, allowing them to secure the victory and send a message to the rest of the league.
