In a commanding performance, the Atlanta Falcons topped the San Francisco 49ers 34-17 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. This victory solidifies the Falcons' position in the playoff race, showcasing their offensive firepower and strategic execution against a formidable opponent. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was the star of the show, tossing five touchdown passes and demonstrating precision and poise in the pocket. Bijan Robinson also shone brightly, not only rushing for 73 yards but also leading the team in receiving with 92 yards, effectively contributing to the Falcons' offensive juggernaut. Together, they formed a dynamic duo that kept the 49ers' defense guessing throughout the game. Defensively, Atlanta's unit stepped up when it mattered most, with Jessie Bates III leading the way with three total tackles. Despite a lack of standout sacks, the pressure applied by the Falcons' defensive line disrupted the 49ers' rhythm. The game's turning point came midway through the third quarter when Penix Jr. connected for a critical touchdown, extending their lead and forcing San Francisco to play catch-up for the remainder of the game.
