The New Orleans Saints topped the Minnesota Vikings 38-21 in a decisive Week 5 matchup of the 2026 season. With playoff implications looming, the Saints showcased their dominance at home, improving their record and asserting themselves as a formidable contender in the league. Tyler Shough led the Saints' offensive efforts with 127 passing yards and one touchdown, but it was Travis Etienne Jr. who stole the show with a remarkable 192 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the Vikings' defense. The Saints' balanced attack kept Minnesota on their heels, while Justin Jefferson managed to snag 78 receiving yards for the Vikings in a valiant but ultimately futile effort. Defensively, the Saints were relentless, with Lorenzo Styles Jr. leading the charge with four tackles. Carl Granderson contributed with a sack, while Trikweze Bridges' interception proved to be a critical turning point, halting a potential touchdown drive for Minnesota and allowing the Saints to extend their lead. The combination of a robust offense and a tenacious defense sealed the victory for New Orleans.
