The Chicago Bears opened their 2026 season with a commanding 42-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers, setting the tone for what they hope will be a successful campaign. With this win, the Bears showcased their offensive prowess and established themselves as early contenders in the league. Caleb Williams led the charge for Chicago, throwing for 193 yards and connecting on four touchdown passes, demonstrating his precision and playmaking ability. Zavion Thomas was his primary target, racking up 99 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the Bears' scoring efforts. Meanwhile, Chuba Hubbard put up a valiant fight for the Panthers, rushing for 94 yards, though it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Chicago’s explosive offense. Defensively, the Bears' unit made key plays, including a sack from Grady Jarrett that disrupted Carolina's rhythm. Despite the Panthers’ efforts to mount a comeback, the game turned decisively in the second quarter when Chicago scored three unanswered touchdowns, effectively sealing the victory. With a strong performance on both sides of the ball, the Bears look poised to make an impact this season.
