In a tightly contested matchup, the Los Angeles Rams topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 23-13, marking a significant victory in Week 3 of the 2027 season. This win not only boosts the Rams' confidence but also puts them in a strong position within the division, showcasing their capability to compete against formidable opponents. Baker Mayfield led the 49ers' offense with a strong performance, throwing for 303 yards and two touchdowns. However, it was Jahmyr Gibbs who stole the show on the ground, rushing for an impressive 158 yards for the Rams, providing a solid foundation for their offensive efforts. Ted Hurst III also made a mark for the 49ers, racking up 167 receiving yards, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Rams were able to disrupt the 49ers' rhythm with David Bailey's dominating presence, recording three sacks that significantly affected Mayfield's time in the pocket. Additionally, Jonas Sanker added to the Rams' defensive prowess with a key interception, which turned the tide in favor of Los Angeles. The combination of timely defensive plays and a powerful ground game proved to be the difference-maker in this hard-fought battle.
