In a high-scoring affair, the Denver Broncos outlasted the Carolina Panthers 49-35 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Broncos firmly in the playoff hunt, while the Panthers struggle to find their footing as the season progresses. Offensively, the Broncos were led by an impressive performance from Jonathon Brooks, who rushed for 146 yards and found the end zone to help propel his team. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold of the Panthers threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to keep pace in a shootout. Zachariah Branch also shined for Carolina, racking up 110 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, Greg Rousseau was a standout for Denver, recording 4 total tackles and 2.5 sacks, which were crucial in applying pressure to Darnold throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when Rousseau’s relentless pursuit led to a critical sack-fumble, shifting momentum decisively in favor of the Broncos. Although Jalen Ramsey intercepted two passes for the Panthers, the defensive efforts were unable to contain Denver’s explosive offense.
