The Minnesota Vikings dominated the Detroit Lions with a final score of 58-21 in their Week 8 matchup of the 2026 season. With this victory, the Vikings solidified their position as a formidable contender in the league, showcasing their offensive prowess and strategic execution on both sides of the ball. Leading the charge for Minnesota was quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr., who threw for an impressive 347 yards and five touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to connect with receivers downfield. Meanwhile, Detroit's RJ Harvey put together a strong performance on the ground, amassing 154 rushing yards, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba contributed significantly with 106 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Vikings' high-octane offense. Defensively, the Vikings were equally impressive, with Lorenzo Styles Jr. leading the team with six total tackles. Shemar Stewart added to the pressure with two sacks, while Jailin Walker's two interceptions proved crucial in halting any Lions momentum. The game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Walker's interception set up a quick touchdown drive, allowing Minnesota to pull away and control the game for the rest of the afternoon.
