In a tightly contested season opener, the Cincinnati Bengals narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-21. This Week 1 showdown set the tone for the 2026 season, with both teams looking to establish early momentum as they vie for playoff positioning. Cincinnati's quarterback Josh Allen led the charge with an efficient performance, throwing for 193 yards. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers' Jayden Daniels connected for one touchdown, but it was Ashton Jeanty's impressive 119 rushing yards that kept Tampa Bay competitive throughout the game. Oscar Delp also had a solid outing, racking up 87 receiving yards to support the offensive efforts. Defensively, Cedric Gray's interception proved to be a pivotal moment, shifting the momentum in favor of the Bengals. Despite the Buccaneers' Kelee Ringo making four total tackles and Derrick Moore recording a sack, Cincinnati's defense held firm when it mattered most. The Bengals' ability to make key stops late in the game ultimately sealed their victory and set a promising tone for their season ahead.
